Just to illustrate the amazing FIL's aforementioned unceasing toil on Our Log House, here he is yesterday, even as I was blogging about his and others' help as we build:

Drywalling Partay!
I know I often give the impression that The Hubs is building Our Log House single-handed, and while it is his labor of love, there are certainly others who have put in hard work to make our home a reality. His father, Jim, is his constant companion in this adventure in log, toiling alongside Bob daily. Friends like Paul, Rob, Craig, Dave and Al and coworkers John and Chris have built this and that bit of our home too. My mother pitched in to scrub some logs, Josh and Chris B. hand-peeled logs that first summer, and who could forget the mass of coworkers who helped get our foundation poured?
So, what I'm saying is, The Hubs and I are grateful for everyone who is helping build our house with us.
Yesterday and today, Chris, Ernie and Not-the-Hubs-Bob have been installing sheetrock on the non-log ceilings and the few remaining interior walls. It's a par-tay!

It's looking good! Thanks, guys!

Good kids
Some families tote pails and shovels to the beach and their kids dig and play in the sand.
My children use the pail and shovel to gather up sawdust. Poor, deprived little waifs.
The Hubs reported so much progress on the log house that I grabbed the bairns after school and took them up to the house. As I marveled at new wiring and closet lights and walls and such, they started sweeping and cleaning up the sawdust! Without prompting!
Aren't they great?!

Progress
All the wiring and hammering and plumbing and such has resulted in a lot of prrrogresssss!
Dining room light fixture... minus two light bulbs and the globes, of course
Spare 'oom closet light
First floor bathroom tub/shower
Master bath sink & vanity (with medicine cabinet sitting on top of it because I made Bob hold it in place to show me what it would look like and then I forgot to remove it for the picture. Oops.)
FIL Jim going to town mudding the hall closet. Woot!
Hall closet, with light!
All the drywall is up in the first floor bathroom now!!

Is it filled with marbles?
Soooo.... when you come to visit us in our new log house (you ARE coming to visit, aren't you?) and stay in the spare 'oom with those lovely lights, you can just walk across the hall to the bathroom and behold:
Ye Medicine Cabinet!
Well, it doesn't look YET like it will hence, but imagine some drywall, paint, the sink & vanity.... you know the drill. Er... routine. I don't know -- perhaps you do know drills too. That's not the point. The point is.... well, frankly I've lost the thread.
Ahem, yes. Hey, lookit: a medicine cabinet in the first floor bathroom!

Lighting
Our friend Dave has been helping the past few days as Bob and F-I-L Jim complete some wiring. Today, Dave wired up some ceiling lights in the spare (first floor) bedroom:
